Tiger track places 5th at Tupelo

The South Panola track team competed in its second track meet of the season at the Daily Journal Relays in Tupelo Saturday. Both the boys and girls won fifth place overall out of 15 schools.

South Panola had two first place finishes. Jadarius McKinney finished first in the 100m relay with a time of 11.12. The boys’ 4x100m relay  team of Chris Felix, Ephraim Kitchens, Gabriel Lloyd and McKinney finished first with a time of 43.88.

McKinney also won second place in the 200m relay with a time of 23.22.

Felix  came in fourth in the 110 meter hurdles in 16.66 seconds.

The boys’ 4x200m relay  of Felix, Ladarius Johnson, Kitchens and McKinney placed third with a time of 1:32.76.

The boys’ 4×800 meter relay team of Jordan Bailey, Gabriel Bibbs, Malik Thomas and Shakir Thomas took third place with a time of 9:45.75.

Keshun Draper placed fourth in the boys shot put with a 40-02.

Placing fourth in the 100 meter relay was Gabriel Lloyd with a time of 11.42 seconds. In the 200 meter relay Kitchens placed fourth with a time of 23.70 seconds. 

In the girls track events, 4×200 meter relay team of Mecheala Carr, Brittany Baker, Diamond Barr and Jaterrica Amos placed fourth with a time of 1:56.72 minutes.

The girls’ 4×100 meter relay team of Baker, Amos, Carr and Breanna Bland placed fifth with a time of 55.19.

In the girls field events, Lisa Lyons won third place in the shot put with a distance of 30’11.50”. Alicia Gunn won third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 53.27.

Winning fourth place in the discus was Lyons with a distance of 78’9.50”.

Chaterrika Tellis placed fifth in the shot put with a distance of 27’11”. In the discus Draper took fifth place with a 27’11” distance.

The team will travel to a track meet at Houston High School in Germantown Saturday.
