According to a report in The Clarion-Ledger, Wright had been staying at a shelter run by a McComb church for several days, McComb INterim Police Chief Scott McKenzie told The Ledger. “A lady there thought she recognized him, so she told a deputy who she thought worked for the police department. The deputy formerly worked here,” McKenzie said.

That deputy put the wheels into motion for both agencies to act together to go to a home where Wright and a few other men were doing yard work for the church, McKenzie said. Wright offered no resistance and was transported to the Pike County jail, the Ledger wrote.
