By John Howell

Batesville police are still looking for the man who robbed a Sonic restaurant manager at gunpoint June 27 as the manager was attempting to drop off a night deposit at the bank.

“We’re still talking to people,” Deputy Chief Don Province said.

Police officials said that a black man wearing a hoodie and sunglasses put a gun to the manager’s head about 12:15 to 12:30 a.m. Thursday as she approached the night depository at the First Security Bank’s Power Drive Branch. No other description was available.

Police encourage businesses making after-hours deposits to call for an escort.

“We’ve always done that. If you need an escort, we’ll provide it for you,” Province said.

There is a cash reward for anyone who saw anything or has information leading to an arrest.
