Jerelene Pittman Boyce

COMO– Jerelene Pittman Boyce, 54, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital -Desoto.

Services will be held today at noon at Felix Cauthen Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial will be in Hunter Chapel M.B. Church in Como. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home has charge.

Boyce was a member of Hunter Chapel M.B. Church in Como.

Survivors include: four daughters, Sherena Boyce of Senatobia, Sabriena Boyce, Shanique Boyce and Brenda Boyce, all of Como; three sons, Dennis Pittman, Antonio Boyce, both of Como and Joshua Boyce of Vicksburg; two sisters, Lucy Mae White of Senatobia and Glady Pittman of Como; two brothers, Robert Earl Pittman and James Pittman, both of Como and four grandchildren.

Walton Clarence Hall Jr.

METAIRIE, La. — Walton Clarence “W.C.” Hall Jr., 81, died June 10, 2013. He was the brother of Vera Ashmore and Joanna Garner, of Batesville.

Services were held Saturday, June 15, at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie. Leitz Eagan Funeral Home had charge.

Born in Memphis September 1, 1932, he grew up in Charleston, where he graduated from Charleston High School. After spending two years in the U.S. Army, Mr. Hall attended Northwest Junior College. He worked as a pipefitter for sprinkler systems for 32 years. He was a member of Local 669 of the Sprinkler Pipefitters Union and also a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner.

Hall was preceded in death by his parents, Vera and Walton Hall, and his son, Michael Joseph Hall.
Survivors include: his wife, Sadie Patterson Hal.

John David LeMaster

HERNANDO — Batesville native John David LeMaster, 71, died June 17. A memorial service is planned for Sunday, June 30 at 1 p.m. at Eudora United Methodist Church in Hernando.

He is survived by his wife Grace, son Russ, daughter Susan LeMaster, stepdaughters Cynthia Reeves and Laurie Shropshire, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.     

Harry James McGee

BATESVILLE. — Harry James McGee, 80, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at his residence.
Services were held Friday at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church. Pastor Melvin Ellis officiated. Cooley’s Morutary had charge.

McGee, born Feb. 11, 1933, in Batesville, to the late Harry McGee and Savannah Ellis, was a retired longshoreman. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church.

Survivors include: two sons, Andante James McGee and Eric James Mahone, both of Chicago; four daughters, Danielle Mahone and Delicia Mahone, both of Chicago, Delicia Mahone of Chicago, Robbie McGee of Milwaukee and Debra Turner of Minnesota; numerous grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Timothy Wayne Raines

PRAIRIEVILLE, La.–Timothy Wayne Raines, 56, brother of Linda Baker and son of Durl and Fay Raines, all of Batesville, passed away June 15, 2013 off  the coast of Louisiana while enjoying his favorite sport, spearfishing. 

A resident of Prairieville, La. and owner of Tiger Bend Upholstery, he is also survived  by his wife of 29 years, Dana Edelmann Raines; a son, Taylor Wayne Raines; daughter, Danielle White Ragas; sister, Brenda Raines Baker; bother, Roger Morris Raines and two grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Heath Floyd Raines.

He spent his childhood in the Olive Branch area and his youth in the West Union area before moving to Prairieville.

He attended West Union High School in Etta where he had been a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a current parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville.

 He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Baton Rouge and a member of the Git’em Dive Club. He was a Coast Guard certified boat captain, and certified open water diver.

Family, friends, fishing, boating, golf, and traveling were Tim’s passion and joy. He was very active and loved being outdoors, his brother-in-law, Brad Baker said.

A visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, Friday, June 28 at 2 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at Sno’s Seafood and Steak House in Gonzales at 5 p.m.

A memorial and celebration of Tim’s life is planned in a few months in the Batesville, area, according to family members.

Idell Williams

BATESVILLE — Idell Williams, 89, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston.

Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Shiloh M.B. Church in Courtland. Pastor Carl Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary and Thursday from noon – 1 p.m. at Shiloh Church. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
Williams, born Jan. 26, 1924, in Batesville, to the late Spurgeon Brassell and Jennie V. Hines, was a homemaker and a member of Shiloh M.B. Church. She was a Sunday school teacher at Shiloh M.B. Church and a member of the usher board.

Survivors include: three sons, James Williams of Batesvlle, Johnny Williams of Houston and Donell Williams of Taylor; one daughter, Shirley Williams Hyatt of Pittsburg, Pa.; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
