Survivors had been treated to a dinner just before the walk.The event began under cloudy skies but hardy participants persevered and the skies cleared before the walk ended at midnight. Teams had worked for weeks raising money for the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life coordinator Daniel Thompson said Monday the event had raised nearly $33,000, surpassing the $25,000 goal.
