The North Delta boys basketball team broke a three-game losing streak Tuesday night as the Green Wave opened up District 1-AA play with a 53-37 road victory over Kirk.
Renic Greenlee led North Delta (2-4; 1-0) with 12 points followed by Hunt Howell with 10 points. Jonathan Mackey and Sam Copeland each had eight points while Bailey Sullivant recorded six. Tylor Lee and Will Hartzell rounded out the scoring with five and four points each.
In varsity girls play, the North Delta Lady Green Wave fell to the Lady Raiders 44-43 in overtime. Erin Snider paced North Delta (8-4; 0-1) with 19 points.
North Delta will be back in action today at 3 p.m. as they host Indianola before traveling to Oak Hill tomorrow starting at 2 p.m.
