Program will detail history of Enid Lake


The North Mississippi Fish Hatchery Visitor Education Center (VEC) at Enid will host the “History of Enid Lake” program Saturday, June 2 at 2 pm.

Mike Robinson, a supervisory ranger at Enid Lake, will present the program on Enid Lake’s History, beginning in 1947

A Corps of Engineers employee since 1972, Robinson has participated on local historical projects including Ford’s Well and has written numerous articles on the lake’s construction, and the families present on the Enid land before construction began.

If you and your family enjoy the many opportunities Enid provides and would like to learn more about a lake that celebrated its 50th birthday in 2002, this is a program you do not want to miss.

Program is free with price of admission.

Admission is $2.50 for adults ages 18-59, and $2 for youngsters ages 3-17 and adults over the age of 60.

The VEC is part of the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks and is located at Exit 233 east off I-55.
