ND splits with Marvell, sweeps Calhoun

The North Delta Lady Green Wave improved to 5-4 on the season with a 39-28 win over Marvell, Ark. Saturday afternoon.

Hanna Greenlee led the Lady Waves with 14 points and seven rebounds. Bradi Beard followed with seven points, eight rebounds and four steals.

Laci DuBravec added seven points while Charla Darby chipped in with six. Hastings Neal and Claire Gant each had two points While Katelyn Still finished with one point.

North Delta’s 7th and 8th grade squad  was also victorous, 12-2. The Green Wave junior high team however fell 38-27 to the Eagles.

Anna Lloyd was the leading scorer with 11 points while Madison McBride, Megan Bollinger and Janie Brasell each chipped in with four points. Shelby Province and Ginger Stephens followed with two points each.

North Delta took all three games from visiting Calhoun Academy Thursday night.

In the first game, Madison McBride hit the game-winning shot with 48 seconds left to give the North Delta junior high a 22-20 win. Ginger Stephens led with six points while Brasell followed with four points. Province and Lloyd each added three points. Sarah Toole and Bollinger finished out the scoring with two points.

Ridge Simmerman’s 14 points led the North Delta junior high boys to a 42-7 romp over Calhoun. Hunter Baker added 10 points while Will Hartzell and Will Kidder contributed with three each.
Dennis King chipped in with four points while Bailey Sullivant, Joseph Wright, Jackson Sims and Tripp Savage all recorded two points.

North Delta’s varsity girls eased past Calhoun 54-11.

The Green Wave will host Tunica Thursday beginning at 4 p.m. before traveling to Oak Hill Friday for six games starting at 3 p.m.
