The Batesville, Miss. Air Evac Lifeteam base has been selected as the company’s national 2011 Community Service Base of the Year. The base was recognized during an awards ceremony at the company’s West Plains, Mo. awards banquet October 1.
The Community Service Base of the Year Award is presented to the base in the Air Evac Lifeteam system that has shown outstanding community service in its market area.
“The crew members at the Batesville base have a true heart-felt commitment to the communities in their service area,” said Vice President of Operations Daniel Sweeza. “Every employee at this base maintains a can-do attitude in reaching out and providing support in their area, whether it is a community CPR class, attending the local Farmer’s Market, teaching AHA classes, or providing blood pressure screenings at a local health fair.
Sweeza pointed out the Batesville crew provides invaluable medical outreach training, including at least four classes per month. “This base values and respects the relationships it has developed in their service area, and takes pride in serving others,” said Sweeza.
The base is led by Program Director Suzanne James, who is in charge of all operations at the base.
