‘Best of Best’ for bragging rights; vote tallies for politicos

There’s much to read in this edition of The Panolian. In addition to usual offerings you’ll find a special tabloid section that contains our “Best of the Best” ballot.

Readers can vote in over 160 categories in a poll that is every bit as fun as it is unscientific. Bragging rights are at stake here and those stakes are high. The “Best of” ballot will be published today, again in Tuesday’s Panolian and again on Wednesday in the AdVantage. Only ballots printed in these publications will be counted

You can bring your ballot to The Panolian at 363 Highway 51 North or mail it to us at that address. Or you can drop your ballot off at Piggly Wiggly, Walgreens and Sav-A-Lot.

Ballots must be received by Tuesday, August 16 5 p.m. to be counted.

Vote early and vote often, just be sure to use our official ballot.

And on pages 10 through 12 you’ll find August 2 voting results broken down for Panola County by precincts.

People who anxiously await election outcomes are especially eager to get their hands on precincts counts. They pore over the numbers, trying to determine who voted for whom and why. They use those figures to help predict the outcome of the next balloting and to spot other trends in the local electorate. It seems that almost everyone is a political junkie when it comes to local politics.

So we’ve made it easy — if such subjective endeavors can be made easy. Have fun, voting and counting.
