Led by Erin Snider’s 13 points and 10 rebounds, the North Delta Jr. High Lady Green Waves improved to 11-1 on the season Tuesday night with a 30-13 road victory over Kirk Academy in local high school basketball action.
Snider also led the defensive charge by recording seven steals on the night.
Julianna Morrow followed Snider in the scoring column with eight points and five steals. Hastings Neal and Peyton Rico added five and three points each while Callie Blake Masterson chipped in with one point and three assists. Claire Gant did not figure into the scoring but did have four steals on the night.
Varsity Lady Wave
In varsity girls play, the Raiderettes, the No. 3 ranked team in the latest Academy AA poll, outscored North Delta 10-5 in the fourth quarter to take a 38-27 win in the District 1-AA opener for both schools.
Bradi Beard was the only double figure scorer for North Delta with 10 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists. Hannah Greenlee added seven points, six rebounds and three blocked shots for the Green Wave who fell to 8-4 on the season. Laci DuBravec followed with six points while Charla Shea Darby and Madison Greenlee rounded out scoring with two points each.
North Delta returns home today taking on Indianola at 3 p.m. then will host Winona Christian Monday afternoon also at 3 p.m.
