Gene MacArthur Carter

CHICAGO, Ill.– Gene MacArthur Carter, 68, died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at his residence. He was born June 13, 1942, in Sardis, to the late Joe Carter and Mose Etta Nunley Carter.

Services were Saturday at Mt. Zion M.B. Church. Rev. Zannie Leland Jr. officiated. Burial was in Walton Chapel Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary had charge.

Carter, was a member of Maryland Avenue Baptist Church in Chicago.

Survivors include: one son, Khalid Hannah of Chicago; two step-daughters, Laura Fay Lozada and Francis Truss of Chicago; two daughters, Angelia Crowley and Cineura Dantzler of Chicago; five sisters, Mattie Brownlee of Batesville, Nennie Reed of Coldwater, Joyce Walker of Memphis, Edna Jackson of Preston and Annette Pierce of Fayette; five brothers, Joe Carter Jr., Ottowa Carter, Frank Carter, Malachi Carter and Albert Carter, all of Sardis and a host of grandchildren.
