Macedonia political forum will be moderated by Como native Otis Sanford

The Macedonia Concord Community Center will have its final Political Education Forum of the season at the Community Center on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, beginning at 1 p.m.

Fish plates will be on sale and there will be a raffle for a 65” smart TV.

Veteran Mid-South journalist Otis Sanford, former managing editor of the Commercial Appeal and current professor emeritus at The University of Memphis, will  serve as the moderator for this event.

This forum will feature the candidates from the six county-wide offices – Sheriff, Tax Assessor/Collector, Chancery Clerk, Circuit Clerk, and Coroner. Additionally, the three candidates for Constable Post 2 (southern part of Panola County) are also scheduled to speak.

Sanford is a native of Sardis and a graduate of North Panola High School. He earned a journalism degree in 1975 from the University of Mississippi. The longtime print columnist also offers regular political commentary on WREG-TV Channel 5 in Memphis.

The center invites all to attend and hear the candidates’ position on matters of interest to the community.
