New church plans ‘Rise Up and Build’ groundbreaking

The church family of the Gospel Kingdom Deliverance Ministry in Batesville has announced a groundbreaking event for May 6, at noon, at 244 Van Voris St. The public is invited to attend.

“Our vision is the community uniting with one common cause of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is just the beginning of our journey,” said Pastor Barbara Pugh. “ Everyone is invited to come and praise the Lord with us on this great event.  Please know that every amount donated to the church helps to bring this vision to fruition. We look forward to seeing you all there.”

Pugh said special thanks is due those who participated in the church’s April fundraiser. She also thanked several individuals for their assistance in the new church, including Mayor Hal Ferrell, Mina Lightsey, Prophetess Yaketta Williams, Lynn Amos, Elder Sandra White, and Dr. Gregory Braggs, Sr. 

She said the congregation also wished to recognize Jerry Lightsey and his family for donating land to the church in order to build a place of worship.
