Robert Dale Brown
BATESVILLE– Robert “Robby” Dale Brown, 19, died Friday, July 3, 2009 at his home.
Services were Monday at at Wells Funeral Home. Rev. Rusty Robertson and John Davis officiated.
Brown worked at Flint’s Hardware in downtown Batesville and is a 2008 graduate of South Panola High School. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents Dale and Cindy Gale Lewis Brown, of Sardis; one sister, Kristi Brown Burns of Oxford and his grandparents Robert and Marilyn Lewis of Atoka, Tenn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Shady Grove Baptist Church Youth Fund, 1638 Shady Grove Rd., Batesville, MS, 38606.
Grace M. Watson Salmon
SARDIS– Grace M. Watson Salmon, 90, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia.
Services were held Sunday, July 5 at Sardis United Methodist Church. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Sardis. Rev. Dayna Goff officiated.
She was born in Tunica County on July 20, 1918 to the late James Watson and Lenora Pruett Watson and was a retired drug store clerk.
Salmon, preceded in death by her husband, Lanier Alford Salmon and one daughter, Lenora Webb Salmon.
Survivors include two sons, Robert L. Salmon of Charleston; and James C. Salmon of Nesbit and five grandchildren.
C.H. “Telephone” Smith
POPE– C.H. “Telephone” Smith, 76, died Sunday, July 5, 2009 at his home.
Smith was born on July 19, 1932 to the late Lee Alton and Ellen Smith. He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from BellSouth. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Services will be held today at Wells Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Rev. Anthony Kay officiated.
Survivors include one son Lee Allen Smith Smith and two grandchildren.
Pamela L. Strough
BATESVILLE– Pamela L. Strough, 50, died Sunday, July 5 at Baptist Memorial Hospital- North Mississippi.
Strough was born September 10, 1958 in Memphis to the late A.L. And Earlean Lambert.
A memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband Melvin Strough III of Batesville; one son Josh Walton of Brandon; and one brother David Lambert of Senatobia.
