Obituaries 12-26-08

SLIDELL, La.– Hattie Mae Carr Veasley, 57, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at her residence. She was the sister of Althea House of Sardis.

Services were Thursday, December 18, 2008, at Pleasant Hill M.B. Church in Kosciusko. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Doyle Funeral Home had charge.

Veasley, born Dec. 9, 1951, to the late Noal Carr and Minnie Lois Carr of Kosciusko, was a member of Little Hill M.B. Church at a young age. She worked many years as a custom curtain designer in Omaha, Neb. She worked for many years in Slidell, La. at Wal-Mart.

Survivors along with her sister and mother include: three sons, Lance Veasley and Eric Veasley, both of Omaha, Neb. and Lamar Veasley of Slidell, La.; two sisters, Linda McMillan and Katie Kelly, both of Detroit, Mich.; three brothers, Norris Carr, Pastor Eddie Carr, both of Kosciusko and Norman Carr of Omaha, Neb.;  and six grandchildren.

SENATOBIA– Larry Wayne Spivey, 35, died Monday, December 22, 2008, at his residence.

Services are today at 1 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial will be in Longtown Cemetery. Pate-Jones Funeral Home has charge.

He attended North Panoa High School and earned his G.E.D. from Northwest Mississippi Community College.

Survivors include: his parents, Larry and Brenda Spivey of Sardis; two sisters, Angela Spivey Gilley of Sardis and Mary Beth Spivey Ruiz of Corinth and one brother, Jason Spivey of Sardis.
