Batesville police are seeking information about a September 17 armed robbery at a convenience store and are offering a cash reward for credible tips.

Minutes before 9 p.m., a black male entered Batesville Express No. 2, pointed a pistol at the store clerk, and made her hand over cash from the register.

The convenience store is located at Highway 6 and Eureka Street.

The clerk said the robber, dressed in a blue sweatshirt and dark pants, fled on foot toward Highway 6. The clerk phoned 911 at 8:56 p.m.

When police arrived, they searched the Eureka Street area but did not locate the suspect. Police did find possible evidence from the robbery on Eureka Street and Panola Avenue.

“We’re offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest,” said Detective George Williford. Names are kept confidential, he said.
