The 8U Batesville All-Stars, fresh off winning two of three games  at the Summer Bash, was scheduled to take on Greenwood at 3:30 Thursday in a first round contest.

A win by Batesville would give them a bye into Saturday’s second round while a loss would bump the host team into the loser’s bracket set for 2 p.m Friday.

The nine-team tournament will run through Sunday with the championship game set for 4 p.m

In the 6U softball division, Batesville squared off against Hernando at 5 p.m Thursday in a opening round game with the winner playing at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
