Funeral services for Ruby L. Armstead, 67, formerly of Enid, will be Saturday, April 20, at 2:30 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary Chapel with Minister Lisa Brooks.
She died April 10, 2019, in California.
She was born Aug. 22, 1951, to Bill Holman and Effie Mae Armstrong. She was a supervisor at Rite Aid.
Visitation will be today (Friday) from 1 to 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary.
Jimmie L. Barbee, age 73, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 11, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford.
Funeral services were Sunday, April 14, at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with the interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Jimmie was born June 5, 1945, in Batesville to the late J.O. and Martha Lewellen Barbee. He was an active and longtime member of Mt. Olivet Methodist Church. Jimmie was a very hard working and dedicated family man who provided for his family. He worked in the forestry industry and also worked construction at times.
When Jimmie wasn’t working, he enjoyed riding four-wheelers and going to the hunting camp. Jimmie greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids, and attending as many of their events as he could.
Jimmie’s legacy will live on through his wife, Jo Jones Barbee of Batesville; two sons, James Ray Barbee and wife, Kimberly, of Batesville, Jeremy Barbee and wife, Nikki, of Olive Branch; sister, Sherry Barbee Anderson and her husband, Bobby, of Batesville; brother, Bobby Joe Barbee, and wife Pam, of Batesville; five grandchildren, Cassi Barbee (B.J.), Garner Barbee, Lauren Grace Barbee, Will Barbee and Bradley Barbee.

Cheryl Kay Pratt Linder, age 56, passed away Wednesday morning, April 17, 2019, at her home in Batesville, She was the wife of David Linder, and they were married for 36 years.
Funeral services for Cheryl will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Batesville First Baptist Church with interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park.
The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home.
Cheryl was born November 26, 1962, to the late Betty Ann Siltman Pratt and Larry Pratt in Batesville. Cheryl started her career as a pharmacist at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, where she had previously lived before moving to Batesville.
She then went on to work at Mr. Discount Drugs in Meridian as well. Later on, she took time away from her pharmacy work to stay home and begin her journey as a mother. After her children got older, she went back to her pharmacy work and worked as a pharmacist at Walgreens.
Cheryl was a devoted Christian, wife, and mother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Batesville. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, cooking, and laughing. You would always know Cheryl was in the room if you heard her distinct, joyful laugh.
Those left behind to cherish her loving memory include her husband, David Linder of Batesville; her daughters, Sarah Caples (Brian) of Meridian, Rachel Linder of Batesville, and Isabella Linder also of Batesville; one son, William Linder of Meridian; her sister, Beth Ann Pratt Dunlap (Michael) of Batesville; and one brother, Joe Pratt (Denise) of Olive Branch. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jim Pratt.

Funeral services for Barbara J. Mills, 72, will be today (Friday) at noon at Cistern Hill M.B. Church in Como. Burial will follow at Shady Grove M.B. Church on L.R.L. Road in Senatobia.
She died April 11, 2019, at her home in Como. She was a retired factory worker.
