BJHS beats Oxford, drops Lafayette game

Batesville Junior High earned a split on the baseball diamond in a pair of four inning jamboree contests Saturday at home.
The Tigers fell to Lafayette County 2-1 in the opener as a pair of unearned runs proved to be the difference.
Mack Boyette drove in the lone run with a single that scored Baylor Scammon who doubled to account for the other Batesville hit.
Aiden Williams surrendered four hits and two unearned runs with two strikeouts in three innings on the mound.
Brock Ware tossed one inning of relief while fanning one batter.
Game two saw Cory Langley and Trey Drumheller combine on a shutout as Batesville blanked Oxford 2-0.
Drumheller helped his own cause with a single and an RBI. Logan Pratt also added a run-scoring single. Eli Raines and Dakota Moudy each recored singles.
Batesville next scheduled game is set for March 4 as they across town to take on North Delta for a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.
