Cougar boys come up short

The North Panola Lady Cougars used a 23-0 scoring barrage in the second quarter to rout home-standing Water Valley 61-20 Monday afternoon in a District 2-3A meeting.
Monique Burnette led the way in scoring with 16 points while Shan Clark added15 for North Panola, which improved to 5-11 and 3-4 in district play.
Jasmine Mays chipped in 14 points while Eruinna Going provided six.
Sherry Connor and Shakevia Loveberry accounted for four points each with Johneicya Wilson finishing with two.
The Cougar boys fell to Water Valley 56-50 despite 22 points and five assists from Cedquavious Hunter.
Ankerion Gross had seven points, Kevon Nunley chipped in six, Mario Fenner netted five, and Denurtius Wright and Herbert Thomas each had three. Roydarius Jackson and Jevon Williams scored two each.,
North Panola travels to M.S. Palmer tonight in a district matchup before hosting Shelby-Northside High School tomorrow in a 6 p.m tipoff.
The Cougars then host Water Valley Monday, also at 6 p.m
