NW student scholarship recipient

At the annual Northwest Mississippi Community College Foundation Scholarship Ceremony held recently on the Senatobia campus, the DeSoto Civic Garden Club (DCGC) presented a tuition- based scholarship as well as an individual club member’s donation which covered expenses for books, to Jessica Humphreys, a sophomore from Byhalia studying forestry at Northwest.

A requirement for the scholarship is that the recipient studies a form of horticulture, such as in landscape design or forestry. This is the fifth year that the DCGC has provided funds for student scholarships to Northwest, which was made possible through a fundraiser held June 7.

The DCGC is a member of the Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and The Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc., Hills and Delta District.
