Shirley Huffman
Stafford, Texas – Shirley Diane Jaudon Huffman passed away on July 9, 2018 at the age of 64.
Born August 4, 1953, Shirley was raised in Greenville, Miss., where she graduated from Greenville High School in 1971. She went on to receive both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).
Upon graduation she moved to Houston, Texas where she enjoyed a 35-year career at the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.
She was preceded in death by her parents Baize Russell “Jimmy” and Gladys H. Jaudon. Survivors include her loving husband, John, and their son, Patrick (Aracelli) Huffman; as well as her siblings Valerie Jaudon (Richard Kalina), B. R. “Rusty” (Jeanette) Jaudon Jr. and Laura Jaudon Booth; along with several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews. She was loved by all who met her and will be remembered for her loving and generous spirit.
Memorial services will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday July 21, at Claire Brother Funeral Home Funeral Home 7901 Hillcroft St Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Lucille Lewis
MEMPHIS – Lucille Lewis, 82, formerly of Oxford, died Friday, July 6, 2018, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis.
Funeral service will be held Friday, July 13, at 3 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Spencer Mathis will officiate. Interment will follow at First Concord Church Cemetery.
She was born June 14, 1936, in Como to the late Julian Jones and Irither Rowell Ivory. She was a cook at Ole Miss.
Jessie Earl Lloyd Sr.
POPE – Jessie Earl Lloyd Sr., 57, died Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 14 at 2 p.m. at Olive Ray M. B. Church in Pope. Rev. L.C. Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 13 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary, who has charge of arrangements.
Lloyd was born August 28, 1960, in Batesville to the late William T. Lloyd and Katherine Cox Lloyd. He was a member of Olive Ray M. B. Church.
Eddie Quincy Mackey Jr.
BATESVILLE – Eddie Quincy Mackey Jr. 85, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, July 13 at Cooley’s Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14 at New Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Eddie was born in Panola County to Eddie Quincy Adams Sr. and Mildred Luss on October 25, 1932. His stepfather Russell Mackey reared him.
He received his education at Batesville High School and Walnut Chapel School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He married Emma Butler and to this union five children were born. He retired from Dunlap &Kyle Company and became a salesman for Rebel Chevrolet. He was involved in Pope Chapel Masonic Lodge 445A and Dr. Joe Gardner VFW 12121. He served as a trustee and deacon at church.
His parents and his sister, Girtha Marie Robinson, preceded him in death.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Emma, and his children: Belinda Faye Morris, Milton Mackey, Marilyn Mackey, Sylvia Franklin, and Rufus Mackey; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
