Kitty Rose Crawford
OXFORD – Kitty Rose Crawford, 54, died Monday, July 2, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North MS.
She was born in Memphis, July 14, 1963 and was a member of First Faith Baptist Church. Funeral services will be scheduled at a later date.
Dickins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Harold Dean Hollowell
BATESVILLE – Mr. Harold Dean Hollowell, Sr., 82, died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at his home in Batesville.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Floyd and Rev. Tim McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Memorial Cemetery in Batesville.
Born in Lafayette County to the late Robert Lee and Velma Hodge Hollowell, he was a member of Charjean Baptist Church in Memphis and retired as a supervisor from Gould Battery.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Bevan and four brothers, Larry, Bill, Earl and Doris Hollowell.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Lynn Hollowell Nicholson and her husband, Thomas of Batesville, MS; a son, Harold Dean Hollowell, Jr. and his wife, Polly of Batesville, MS; former wife, Betty Tramel of Batesville, MS; a brother, James “J.E.” Hollowell of Jackson, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Ben Shepherd
SARDIS – Ben Shepherd, 77, Sardis, was born March 20, 1941 to Benjamin A. and Sarah Thomas Shields-Shepherd and entered into rest July 6, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Shepherd was an engineer who worked for General Marine Towing in Greenville. He was known by many but mostly his children and family as a generous and loving father, a man of strong character, and more than a parent but a best friend and brother to his children that cherish his memory.
Mr. Shepherd is survived by four sons; Scott Shepherd (Anita) Southaven, Morris Ray Shepherd, Little Falls, Minnesota, Michael Shepherd (Krissy), Amery, Wisconsin, Jay Blount of Greenville and one daughter; Jill Shepherd-Steier (Rick) of Taylorsville, Kentucky.
Mr. Shepherd is also survived by 18 grandchildren; Lori Leigh (Justin), Benjamin, Jonathan, Laura, Skyler, Samantha, Grace, Ella, Tyler, Tara, Scotty, Jade, Heath (Megan), and John Story. Eight great-grandchildren also honor Ben’s legacy; Lily Clare, Kylie, Alexandria, Olivia, Jackson, Molly, Lilley Blare, Sutton.
Mr. Shepherd is preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Paula Shepherd; one daughter Honey Story and three sisters; Betty Crosby, Marie Vincent, and Virginia Yeates.
Graveside services for Mr. Shepherd will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Indianola City Cemetery under direction of Roller Family Funeral Home of Memphis. Online condolences may be left at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/memphis.
Monnie Ann White
Crowder – Mrs. Monnie Ann White, 67, died Friday July 6, 2018 at Grace Health & Rehab in Grenada.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 8 at Enon Baptist Church. Interment followed in Crowder Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
She was born to the late Claude Sr. and Flora Mae Gentry.
Mrs. White was a homemaker and a member of Enon Baptist Church.
