At the annual Popstar Awards Wednesday night in Jackson, South Panola’s Whitney Kiihnl and Darius “Tig” Barksdale were named the top female and male athletes of Missisisppi. Kiihnl was last year’s Miss Softball and will be named again this year, according to head coach Ashleigh Hicks. Barksdale is this year’s Mr. Football. Photo submitted
