The South Panola powerlifting team, the Iron Tigers, participated in the district meet held at Desoto Central last Friday. Four members of the team qualified for North State: Marvin Burdette, Marjarvin Chapman, Kenyahti McMurry and Deshun Henderson.

Burdette placed second in the 242-pound class. Chapman placed first in the 308-pound class. McMurry placed third in the 308-pound class.

Henderson was third in the 132-pound class.

The team placed fourth overall in the district.

Team members includehead coach Deshun Henderson, Sawyer Oakes, Kelvin Hardrick, Marquise Hamilton, Jonathan Bownes, Kenyahti McMurry, Marjarvin Chapman, Jeremiah Watson, Deshondrick Hines, Jonathan Hardin and Marvin Burdette. Head coach is Arnie Oakes with assistant Pat Oakes.
