Must win games on tap for SP ladies for post season play
By Myra Bean
“It’s put up or shut up time,” said South Panola Lady Tiger slowpitch head coach Kim Wilson.
The Lady Tigers will be home today hosting Greenville-Weston in the final home district game of the season at 4 p.m. South Panola will travel to Grenada Thursday for the final district game of the regular season.
South Panola finds itself in a must win situation for both games in order to make the playoffs in two weeks. South Panola lost to both Greenville and Grenada earlier in the season. Greenville defeated Grenada in its earlier meeting.
That leaves the Lady Tigers the only team in the three-team district without a district win.
“We need a good, solid effort,” Wilson said. “We were working out bats all last week. Playing at home will help us. We need a good crowd.”
The South Panola Lady Tigers defeated Byhalia 33-3 in non-district action last Tuesday.
Thursday, the game with Grenada will begin at 5 p.m. The winners will advance to the district tournament starting in two weeks.
The last two games of the season will be played at home next week Tuesday against Cleveland and Thursday against J.Z. George. Both games begin at 4 p.m.
