Hype was all the South Panola/Clarksdale game turned out to be as the nationally ranked South Panola Tigers downed the Wildcats 42-0 before an overflow crowd of about 10,000 people.

Clarksdale Dandy Dozen running back Charles Mitchell went out after the first set of the game with a hamstring injury and never returned.

Tiger Dandy Dozen running back Darius “Tig” Barksdale was one of the stars of the night scoring four touchdowns and completing a halfback pass for a touchdown to Xavier Lee.

Barksdale had another 200 yard game with 201 yards on the night on 23 carries. Last week he had 261 yards on 31 carries. So far this season he has a total 462 yards in two games.

The first quarter was all the game was hyped up to be as the quarter ended scoreless.

The Tigers had the ball at the end of the first quarter, moving it down the field. Just three plays into the second quarter, Tiger Dandy Dozen running back Darius “Tig” Barksdale scored on a 17-yard run with 10:47 left in the half.

David Renfroe was again perfect on the night kicking seven of six extra points.

Montez Austin pulled down his first interception of the year. Nicholas Parker scored an 11-yard touchdown.

The Tigers had 335 total yards including 317 rushing yards.

The defense recovered three Clarksdale fumbles and scored after all three turnovers.
