Cagle, born May 5, 1934, in Oxford to the late Marshall and Ada Bray Cagle, was a retired electronic technician for Ikon Copiers of Tupelo. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Batesville, a member of the Batesville Civitan Club, carekeeper of Chapel Town Cemetery and former leader of Explorers Bible Class. He also served in the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife Linda Duke Cagle of Batesville; six daughters, Christina Elaina Taylor of Senatobia, Cassie F. Arnold and Marni Michelle Towles, both of Batesville, Vicki Lynn Turnage of Courtland, Dena Marie Haliburton of Cleveland and Regina Ann Youngblood of Greenbrier, Ark.; two sons, Boyce Glynn Cagle Jr. of Ruston, La. and Mark Andrew Cagle of Flowood; one sister, Louease M. Cagle of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Bill Moore of Hernando and Archie Cagle of Paducah, Ky.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Cagle, born Aug. 6, 1956, to the late Haywood Burns and Margaret F. Fowler, was a roofer for Burns Home Improvement.
Survivors include her husband, Phillip Cagle of Memphis; one son, Michael Phillip Cagle of Memphis; four sisters, Margaret Fox and Yvonne Odom, both of Batesville, Lona Porter of Coldwater and Linda Paige of Sardis; two brothers, Roy Burns of Batesville and Gary Burns of Memphis and three grandchildren.
CAIN, Hazel K. Laskie
RIDGELAND – Hazel K. Laskie Cain, 78, died Saturday, October 7, 2006, at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland.
Services were Monday at the First United Pentecostal Church in Batesville. Rev. Steve Cannon officiated. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Cain, formerly of Senatobia, was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. J.B. Cain.
Survivors include two sons, Rev. Jimmy B. Cain of Ridgeland and Harvey A. Cain of Saucier; two brothers, Luther Laskie and Felix Laskie, both of Trinity, Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
CAMPBELL, Bobbie Jean Clolinger
CHARLESTON- Bobbie Jean Clolinger Campbell, 71, died Saturday, July 29, 2006, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

Campbell was a retired nurse.

BATESVILLE – Larry Gene Campbell, 68, died Monday, March 13, 2006, at his residence.

Campbell, born Jan. 20, 1938, to the late Everett and Mildred Wagner Campbell, was a printer for B & M Printing and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynda Campbell Youngman of Siloam Springs, Ark. and Valerie Campbell of Covington, Tenn.; one son Brian Campbell of Olive Branch; two brothers, Jimmy Campbell of Southaven and Gordon Campbell of Texas; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
CANNING, Jean Lovett
POPE- Jean Lovett Canning, 82, died Sunday, December 10, 2006, at her residence.
Services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Father Sam Messina and Father J.L. Oglesby will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Memphis. Canning, born to the late George H. and Ann Christine Reid Lovett, July 24, 1923, in Richmond, Canada, was a homemaker and a charter member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul M. Canning.
Survivors include: one sister, Georgina Lovett Farmer of Naples, Fla.; one brother, G.H. "Sonny" Lovett of Stouffville, Ontario, Canada.

CANON, Jesse L. Jr.
BATESVILLE – Jesse L. Cannon Jr., 79, died Sunday, January 29, 2006.
Private memorial services were Monday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Canon, born Nov. 28, 1926, in Vaiden to the late Jesse Lee Cannon Sr. and the late Marilla Vail Canon, was a member and active deacon in First Baptist Church of Gulfport. He worked as an engineer with Mississippi Power and Light. He was a mechanical engineer for Keesler Air Force Base, partners with Brewer, Skewes, Godbold and Associates in Clarksdale. He was an engineer with the Mississippi Test Facility in Picayune, a member of the Professional Engineering Society, served on the Gulfport Regional Planning and Developing Committee, and was founder of the Gulf Coast Heating and Refrigeration Society. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the founder and owner of Canon Engineering.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee McCoy Canon of Batesville; one daughter, Gwendolyn Canon of Pass Christian; one brother, Dr. William W. Canon of Columbus; one grandson, Nathan McCoy Canon of Pass Christian and one niece, Margie Canon of Columbus.
CARLTON, Juathena Otkeia Humphreys
BATESVILLE – Juathena Otkeia Humphreys Carlton, 76, died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at Methodist South in Memphis.

Carlton, born to the late Issac Calvin Humphreys and the late Pashont Jones Webb Humphreys, was a member of Batesville Church of Christ and a homemaker.

CARMICHAEL, Richard Thomas
OXFORD – Richard Thomas Carmichael, 79, of Oxford, formerly of Brandon, Fla. completed his life on Earth March 4, 2006.
His final resting place will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Carmichael, born March 1, 1927, to the late Tom Cobb and the late Daisy Miser Carmichael in California, was retired from Reynolds Metal Company as a safety inspector after 22 years. He also served his country in the U.S. Navy for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Jennings Carmichael of Brandon, Fla.; one daughter Bronwyn Meredith of Lyon; two sons, Richard "Rick" Thomas Carmichael Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla. and Philip Carmichael of Brandon, Fla.; one sister, Dorris Miller of Palo Alto, Calif.; three grandchildren, Kristen Neal Robison of Batesville, Wes Neal of Brandon, Fla. and Angela Carmichael Silsley of Oceanside, Calif. and two great-grandchildren.
CARPENTER, Rebecca Carol "Beck" Roberson
HORN LAKE – Rebecca Carol "Beck" Roberson Carpenter, 55, died Saturday, December 16, 2006, at her residence.

Carpenter, born Nov. 26, 1951, to the late Varner Roberson and Carolyn McGee Gupton, was an administrative assistant in medical records, loved spending time with her grandchildren, camping, skiing and outdoors.
Survivors include: her mother, Carol McGee Gupton of Memphis; her husband, Mike Carpenter of Horn Lake; two daughters, Jennifer Pickett of Atoka, Tenn. and Alyssa Carpenter of Horn Lake; two brothers, Donald Roberson of Hernando and Gary Roberson of Tupelo; two sisters, Charlotte Pierce of Bartlett, Tenn. and Marianne Kapp of Charlotte, N.C.; five grandchildren.

Carpenter was a district manager for TVA and a member of Coffeeville First Baptist Church.

Carter was a deacon, treasurer, and Sunday school teacher. He was principal of Crowder Elementary School, assistant principal of Patton Lane School and assistant principal of South Panola High School.

SARDIS – Sara Lee Beard Carter, 80, died Friday, November 3, 2006, at her residence.

Carter, born March 18, 1926, in Oxford, to the late Otis Lee Beard and the late Sarah B. Houston Beard, was a homemaker and Panola County Tax Collector and Assessor. She was also a member of Sardis Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband William S. Carter; one daughter, Nancy Carol Carter and one sister, Betty Jane Beard.
Survivors include two daughters, Sara Jane Holloway of Batesville and Suzanne C. Boyle of Como; two brothers, Otis Eugene Beard of Nesbit and Robert Houston Beard of Hernando and two grandchildren.

Carver, born in Webster County to the late Eskerage and Annie Carver, was a member of the First Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.

Chambers, born June 21, 1922, to the late Charles Lee Chambers Sr. and the late Maggie Wilbourn Chambers, was a member of Como United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher, treasurer and member of the board. He was a farmer/cotton broker for F.G. Barton Cotton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Chambers.
Survivors include one daughter, Patrice Chambers Pelham of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one son, Charles Lee Chambers III of Como; one sister, Sara Ann Baker of Atlanta, Ga. and three grandchildren, Charles Lee Chambers IV, Chaeli Louise Chambers and Colston Pelham.

Chandler, born June 26, 1919, was a member of Pope Baptist Church and the Yalobusha County Homemakers Club. She was also a homemaker.
She preceded in death by her husband, David B. Chandler, one son, Daniel Chandler and one grandson, Jimmy Baker Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Faye Baker and Helen Kyzer, both of Batesville; one brother, Will Tharpe of Coffeeville; one sister, Effie Kelly of Rock Island, Tenn.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

CROWDER – Susie Mae Kelly Chandler, 75, died Saturday, December 10, 2005, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
Services were Saturday, December 17, 2005, at New Bethel M.B. Baptist Church. Rev. Truevelle Black officiated. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Crowder.
Chandler, born June 16, 1930, to the late Mary Ellis Hudson-Kelly and Virgil Kelly-Hudson, accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Bethel M.B. Church in Crowder where she served as an Usher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Chandler; two brothers, George Franklin Kelly and Johnny Rural Kelly; one sister, Everlyne Reese; two sons, Franklin Smith and Laden Cooper and one grandson, Aaron Gabriel Johnson.
Survivors include her daughters, Lena Mae Gailes of Jacksonville, Fla., Patricia Burnette of Crowder, Rosemary Johnson of Courtland and Brenda Hill of Batesville; two sons, Roger Cooper of Milwaukee, Wis. and Gregory Chandler of Crowder; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Chapman was a retired machine operator for Parker Hannifin Company and a receptionist for Hodges Funeral Home.

Childress, born May 17, 1960, in Panola County to the late O.L. and Margaret Deloach Childress, was a truck driver for Perimeter Trucking in Memphis.
Survivors include his wife, Gurtie Welch Childress of Thaxton; one daughter, Emily Burnett of Batesville; two sons, Mark Welch of Batesville and Clint Childress of Thaxton; one sister, Donna Childress Hays of Ridgeland and three grandchildren.
CHINN, Noah Hing
MARKS – Noah Hing Chinn, 91, formerly of Marks, died Monday, December 25, 2006, at Memphis Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Bartlett, Tenn. He was the uncle of Wally Pang of Batesville.
Memorial services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Marks. Rev. James Tidwell will officiate. Burial will be in Marks Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home has charge.
Chinn, born April 7, 1915, in Seattle, Wash., was a retired co-owner of The King Store in Marks. He graduated from the University of Southern California where he received an electrical engineering degree. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marks, served on the Marks school board and was a past president of the Marks Chamber of Commerce.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gene Pang Chinn.
Survivors, along with his nephew, include: one daughter, Donna Caplin of Yorba Linda, Calif.; two sons, Dexter Chinn of The Woodlands, Texas and Cedric Chinn of Germantown, Tenn.; one brother, Howard Chinn of Emeryville, Calif.; one sister, Eva Jeong of San Francisco, Calif. and six grandchildren.
CLARK, William Arnold Bill
GREENWOOD – William Arnold Bill Clark, 82, died of complications from leukemia Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.
Services were Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dr. Rusty Douglas officiated at the services. Burial was in Odd Fellows East Cemetery. Wilson and Knight Funeral Home had charge.
Clark was born in Hattiesburg and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In 1952, he moved to Greenwood, where he was engaged in the insurance business and was the founder of Clark Insurance Agency. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he was a deacon, elder and former Sunday school teacher and very active in all other church activities. He was a former president of Greenwood Exchange Club, having also served as state secretary and president, and was a recipient of the Exchange Golden Deeds Award. He held memberships in many civic endeavors such as Jaycees, the Greenwood-Leflore County Chamber of Commerce, Odd Fellows Lodge (past Noble Grand), High School Band Boosters, United Givers, Boy and Girl Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity (past president), Cottonlandia and the Elks Lodge. He was a founder of Boys Clubs of Leflore County, had served as chairman of the Leflore County Republican Committee and served as delegate to the national and state Republican conventions. He was the Republican candidate for the 2nd Congressional District in 1960.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Peacock Clark of Greenwood; three daughters, Jackie Guest and her husband Jimmy of Minter City, Janet Clark of Brandon and Stacie Clark of Byram; three sons, Randy Clark and his wife Sherry of Greenwood, Chris Clark and his wife Cindy of Mendenhall and Marty Clark of Greenwood; a brother, Bobby Clark, and his wife Mary Alice of Blue Springs; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
CHRESTMAN, Oma Lee
MARKS – Oma Lee Chrestman, 92, died Thursday, January 12, 2006, at Quitman County Hospital.

Chrestman, born Oct. 28, 1913, in Calhoun County, was a member of Marks First Baptist Church and a retired sales clerk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim A. Chrestman and one son, Jimmy D. Chrestman.
Survivors include one daughter, Pat Shellman of Batesville; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Cobb, born Nov. 1, 1952, was a member of Wilson Lake Country Club, an avid golfer and a member of Marks First United Methodist Church.

Cobb, born Dec. 9, 1973, to Charles Franklin Cobb and Mrs. Clyde Massey Callihan, was a graduate of Northwest Mississippi Community College. She was employed with Sta-Home Health Care in Senatobia as an LPN. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Batesville.
Survivors along with her mother and father include her step-father, Michael Callihan; step-mother Faye Cobb, of Batesville; one daughter, Allie Nicole Richardson of Senatobia; one brother, William Massey of Oakland and one sister, Whitney Cobb of Batesville.

Cole, born August 18, 1939, in Panola County to the late Alford Fair Hicks and the late Ethel Ford Hicks, was a member of First Assembly of God in Gastonia, and the owner of Mary’s Groom Shop.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Hicks.
Survivors include three sons, Terry Wayne of Bessemer City, N.C., Tony Reed of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Todd Owens of Winter Haven, Fla.; one daughter, Tammy Terry of Gastonia, N.C.; two brothers, Pete Hicks of Batesville and Mack Hicks of LaBelle, Fla.; one sister, Ethel Houston of Batesville; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
COLEMAN, Shirley Jean
COURTLAND- Shirley Jean Coleman, 59, died Friday, December 1, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Services were Sunday at McIvor Baptist Church. Rev. Gary Stevens officiated. Burial was in Temprance Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Coleman, born Nov. 5, 1947, in Clarksdale to the late Hiram Funderburg and the late Myrtle Lucius Funderburg, was a cook on the river boat.
Survivors include: one daughter, Lisa Miller of Courtland; one brother, Claude Funderburg of Marion, Ark.; three sisters, Louise Taylor of Colt, Ark., Patsy Patterson of Courtland and Peggy Moss of Earl, Ark.; three grandchildren, Wesley Lynn, Shannon Ray, and Dallas Paige Harrell and a grandpuppy, Lucy.
COLEMAN, Virginia Dayle Baker
COURTLAND – Virginia Dayle Baker Coleman, 61, died Thursday, February 2, 2006, at Baptist Memorial in Oxford.

Coleman, born Feb. 26, 1944, in Memphis, Tenn., to the late J.T. and Clara Head Baker, was an opra singer with the Coleman Family, affiliated with North Mississippi Opra out of Bruce, and a member of Goodhope Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Riley L. Coleman of Courtland; two daughters, Anita Coleman Avalos of Byhalia and Angela Coleman Barton of Courtland; one son, Riley Matthew Coleman of Batesville; three sisters, Charolette Baker Stewart of Bruce, Elizabeth Baker Edwards of Grenada and Melody Baker Dickson of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, John Baker and Paul Baker, both of Grenanda and Dan Baker of Coffeeville; nine grandchildren and five great – grandchildren.

BATESVILLE- Howard Gerald Collier, 68, died Friday, January 13, 2006, in Denham Springs, La.
Graveside services were yesterday at Batesville-Magnolia Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Collier, born Sept. 6, 1937, in Batesville to the late William Howard Collier and the late Mary Louise Tidwell Collier, was a pipeline construction worker.
Survivors include one sister, Doris Collier Wallace of Springfield, Mo.

COMO – Fred "Doll" Conrad, 67, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
Services are today at noon at Mount Moriah C.M.E. Church in Como. Burial will be in Mount Moriah C.M.E. Cemetery. Pate-Jones Funeral Home has charge.
Conrad was a brick mason and a member of Mount Moriah C.M.E. Church.

BATESVILLE – Ruth Helen Callens Cook, 71, died Monday, November 13, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.

Cook, born Feb. 27, 1935, in Tennessee, to the late Thomas Franklin and the late Mattie Wilson Callens, was a homemaker and a member of Cypress Corner Baptist Church in Sarah.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward T. Cook.
Survivors include two sons, Eddie T. Cook and Bruce S. Cook, both of Pope; one sister, Tommie Jean Callens Kilpatrick of Horn Lake; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

OXFORD – William Thomas Cook, 85, died Friday, September 1, 2006, at the VA Home in Oxford.

Cook, born Oct. 30, 1920, was a veteran of the the U.S. Navy serving in WWII and was in the American Legion. He was also a retired Realtor.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Cook of Illinois; one daughter, Pamela Wood of Thurmond, Md.; three sons, William T. Cook of Smyrna, Tenn., Danny Cook of Hernando and Freddie Cook of Memphis; two sisters, Katherine Cox of Biloxi, Hazel Reihm of Long Beach, Calif.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
COOK, Winfred Sutton Jr.
OXFORD – Winfred Sutton Cook Jr., 73, died Sunday, November 19, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was the brother of Jimmy Cook of Batesville.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Anchor Baptist Church in Oxford. Rev. Gerald Shook and Rev. Alan Cochet will officiate. Burial will be in Anchor Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home has charge.
Cook, a retired surveyor for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, was a member and deacon of Anchor Baptist Church. He was a farmer, formerly worked in the printing service at the University of Mississippi and at the Commercial Appeal newspaper. He was an avid golfer.
Other survivors include his wife, Sue Cook of Oxford; three daughters, Martha Cook Witherspoon of Memphis, Debbie Hewlett and Cindy Cook Conrad, both of Oxford; one son, Steve Cook of Oxford; one sister, Maudene McCain of Oxford; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

SENATOBIA – Margie Darby Copeland, 73, died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

Cosby, born Dec. 20, 1938, to the late J.W. Cosby Jr. and the late Leslie Lorene McMinn Cosby, was a retired self-employed brick mason and a member of Sardis Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Joyner Cosby of Courtland; three daughters, Tammy Cosby Darby and Sherry Cosby Bratcher, both of Pope, and Sandra Cosby Darby of Batesville; three brothers, J.W. "Bill" Cosby Jr., Robert L. "Bob" Cosby, and Charles M. Cosby, all of Courtland, and five grandchildren.
COSBY, Linda Williams
BATESVILLE – Linda Williams Cosby, 64, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Cosby, born Nov. 12, 1941, to the late Murray and the late Sammie Doris Vaughn Williams, was a retired insurance agent with A.F.L.A.C. and a member of Eureka United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe K. Cosby.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Arlene Cosby Latham and Pennie Jo Cosby Carlini, both of Batesville, and five grandchildren.
COVINGTON, William Allen "Bill"
MARKS – Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12 for William Allen "Bill" Covington, 72, of Marks. He died October 8 at the Mississippi Veteran’s Home in Oxford. Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday at Kimbro Funeral Home and Charles Langford will officiate the service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Belen Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home has charge.
Covington served the U.S. Army in Korea. He earned a master’s degree in social work from Louisiana State University. He was a retired social worker with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. A member of the Presbyterian Church, he also belonged to the Marks Lions Club and the Coffee Club.
He was born in Marks on February 13, 1934.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Margaret Covington of Marks; two daughters, Amanda Belle Covington of Siletz, Ore. and Callie Courtney Covington-Nichols of Oxford and four grandchildren.
COX, Alta Rooker "Sissy"
SARDIS – Alta Rooker "Sissy" Cox, 79, died Monday, May 8, 2006, at Sardis Nursing Home.

Cox, born Jan. 2, 1927, to the late Melvin S. and Jewel Clemmer Rooker in Blue Mountain, was a retired teacher’s aide in Quitman County Schools and a member of New Hope Church of God in Batesville.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Cox Meek of Courtland, Judy Cox Austin of Batesville and Wanda Cox Chandler of Batesville; two brothers, Lee Rooker of Oxford and Sylvester Rooker of Ripley; three sisters, Marie Rooker Cox of Marks, Mavis Rooker Bolton of Pope and Mary Rooker Osborne of Conyers, Ga.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
COX, Paula Jean Spears
MARKS- Paula Jean Spears Cox, 55, died Thursday, April 6, 2006, at her residence.

Cox, born June 20, 1950, in Parchman, was an employee at Casco Incorporated of Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and Houston Spears, and a brother, James Howard Spears.
Survivors include three daughters, Angela Renee Cox Hester and Mary Elizabeth Cox, both of Marks and Cheryl Jean Cox Bryant of Batesville; two sons, Karl Roy Cox of Pope and Michael Paul Cox of Marks; three sisters, Mary Frances Spears of Honey Grove, Texas, Martha Ann White and Virginia Lee Self, both of Pontotoc, and five grandchildren.
CROFFORD, Lucy Marie
SARDIS – Lucy Marie Crofford, 87, died Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at North Oak Hospital in Senatobia.

Crofford, born Oct. 9, 1919, in Banner, was a member of Sardis Lake Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and a retired cotton farmer.
She was preceded in death by her husband Victor Leo Crofford.
Survivors include: two sons, Dr. Leo Crofford of Memphis and A.B. Crofford of Bartlett, Tenn.; two daughters, Annice Crandall of Lunenberg, Va. and Peggy Miller of Tampa, Fla.; one brother, Russell Steele of Water Valley; 20 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Crowder, born Sept. 27, 1913, in Batesville to the late Norman Crowder and the late Carrie Peoples, was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Wright Crowder of Batesville; seven daughters, April Wright, Angela Wright, Nancy Wright, Effie Wright and Earmie Wright, all of Batesville, Sarah Crawford of Virginia Beach, Va. and Mary Ann Carr of White Plains, N.Y.; eight sons, Larry Wright, Robert Crowder and Mack Carr, all of Batesville, George Crowder of Crowder, Michael Wright, Richard Wright and Gilbert Lee Crowder, all of Memphis, and George Crowder Jr. of New York City, N.Y.; one brother, Hurley Crowder of Batesville; 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
CURTIS, JoAnn
POPLAR BLUFF, MO – JoAnn Curtis, 64, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at her residence. She was the mother of Jeff Curtis of Courtland.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 15 in the chapel of Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., with Dr. Steve Proctor officiating. Burial was at the Woodlawn Cemetery, in Campbell, Mo.
Mrs. Curtis was born Feb. 2, 1942, in Marshton, Mo. A homemaker, she was also a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Harrisburg, Ark. Mrs. Curtis enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and photography work. She also loved animals as well.
Survivors include her mother, Earlene (Hughes) Sanders, of Campbell, Mo.; three sons, Jeff Curtis and wife Becky, of Courtland, Perry Curtis and wife Lisa, of Harrisburg, Ark. and Kevin Curtis and wife Mary Ann, of Houston, Tex.; four grandchildren, Cody Curtis, Keely Curtis, Betsy Anderson and husband Scott, and Brittaney Curtis; two great-grandchildren, Trace Anderson and Tate Anderson; two sisters, Rhonda Gail Forkum, of Dexter, Mo. and Debbie Arevalo, of Campbell, Mo.; and two brothers, Ray Gene Sanders, of House Springs, Mo. and Wayne Sanders, of Campbell, Mo.
Her father, Clester Hayes Sanders and two brothers, Danny Sanders and Gregory Lynn Sanders, preceded Mrs. Curtis in death.
