Tickets on Sale at South Panola
More and more progress is being made on the new home side of the South Panola High School football stadium. Some ballplayers are working out while work continues as the seats and walkways are installed.

Season ticket sales have started for the 2003 South Panola football season.

South Panola High School reserved seats went on sale yesterday and will continue through August 1 for those persons who held season tickets last year.

Tickets holders will need to go to the South Panola High School office to choose their seating. Season passes are $50 for all seven home games.

The new home seating is located on the east side of the stadium. The stands offer 30 rows of seats to see some of the best high school football in Mississippi.

Season tickets for new patrons will be available beginning August 4 at the high school office.

According to the athletic department, the reserved seats will be sectioned off from the general admission seats.
         


State Champs
    
The Wooly Boogers 16 and under U.S.S.S.A. team went 4-0 in the state championship tournament to bring home the trophy. They finished the season 33-12 and will soon play in the World Series in Orlando. The team scored 48 runs and only allowed three in the tournament.

ND Cheerleaders Luau
It was a luau celebration for the North Delta cheerleaders. The cheering squad attended camp at Panama City Beach, Fla. Luau night was held for the squads attending after a long day of working.

Street Rodders Prepare for Annual Catfish Run
    

    
Old car enthusiasts will be in car heaven this weekend when the expected 150+ pre-1949 automobiles roll into town. The local AmeriHost Inn is the host motel for the owners of these beauties who will arrive Friday, July 25. Friday night the public is invited to look closer at the vehicles at the Factory Stores of Mississippi where a barbecue will be served.
    
The 19th annual Catfish Run, sponsored by the Mississippi Delta Street Rods, will be held Friday through Sunday, July 25 through 27.

The event will kickoff with a barbecue Friday night at the Factory Stores of Mississippi beginning at 5 p.m. Entrants will be showcasing their cars which are pre-1949 automobiles.

"Bring your musical instruments for some picking and grinning," said Darrell Martin of the Miss. Delta Street Rods.

Saturday, the cars will be on display and judged at Cypress Point on Sardis Lower Lake.

People and cars from all over the United States take part in this annual event.

There is no fee for the public to come and view the cars.

American Legion All Stars


    

Walt Love (right) and Luke Kiihnl of the Batesville Jr. American Legion team were chosen as All-Star players following the end of the season.

The two played in the State Games which were held recently. Batesville finished second in the district behind Oxford.
