Batesville Middle School students were welcomed back to classes on the first day of school Tuesday by community cheerleaders – business leaders, retirees, and others who arrived early to greet students and encourage them to have a great academic year. First Security Bank’s Community Development Officer Belinda Morris traded her desk for a spot near the bus drop off to cheer students as they arrived for school. Superintendent Del Phillips said the volunteer participation from the community was a positive experience for the teachers and students alike.
