Lena Mae Pitts, 93

Lena Mae Pitts, 93, peacefully passed away at the Baptist East Hospice Unit Memphis on July 25, 2024, after suffering a stroke just a few days before.
She was born May 22, 1931 to Phillip James Stroupe and Minnie Latta Stroupe in Vanndale, Arkansas. After graduating from Vanndale High School in 1949, she began work in Wynne, Arkansas. The majority of her working days were spent at the medical office of Dr.’s Hays, Young, and Jacobs. She enjoyed working with people and created lifelong bonds there.
Her family, both immediate and extended, were a great source of joy to her throughout her life. She made an effort to stay connected to them and they were always important to her, as were her many friends.
The family she leaves behind to cherish her memory includes her daughter Robbie and her husband Randy of Batesville, Mississippi, one grandson Ryan, his wife Chandler and her two great-granddaughters Audrey and Harper of Madison, Mississippi and a host of nieces, nephews, and their families.
In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Hansel Pitts, three sisters, Ruby Stroupe, Frances Crawford, and Bonnie Dell Everett and three brothers, Harry Stroupe, Marshall Stroupe and James Marion Stroupe.
Her family rejoices and gives thanks for the wonderful life she had and the hope in Christ that led her gently to her eternal home.
A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, July 27, at Batesville First Baptist Church. Interment was held at at Crosslawn Cemetery in Wynne, AR.
