Charles Larry Cummins, 71, of Batesville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, at Panola Medical Center.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 13, from 2 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 3 p.m., all at Batesville Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
A celebration of his life will be Sunday, Nov.13, at the Batesville Presbyterian Church in Batesville. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3 p.m. followed by the funeral services. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville.
Larry was born May 5, 1951 in Greenwood, to the late Audrey Cummins and Sara Dean Long Cummins. He grew up in Cleveland, and graduated from Cleveland High School and attended Delta State University where he was a member of the tennis team.
He enjoyed a career as a Manufacturing Manager for Irvia Industries in Greenwood, and Del Rio, Texas before joining PMI of Richmond, KY. Upon returning to Mississippi, he joined the Mississippi Dept. of Revenue as a Revenue Agent. He was a member of Batesville Presbyterian Church.
Larry was an avid golfer who obtained three hole-in-ones before his health forced him to hang up his clubs. He loved all sports, especially football. He enjoyed watching a good game and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a loving father and husband who enjoyed spending time with his wife, Dianne, and his sons, Cris and Adam. He took great pride in watching them accomplish their goals.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his brother James Cummins and nephews Wilson Cummins and Joshua Prestige. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Dianne Davis Cummins, two sons Christopher Cummins of Batesville, and Dr. Adam Cummins (Mary Beth) of Brandon, one brother William “Bill” Cummins (Darlene) of Boyle, and sister-in-law Eva Cummins of Arlington, TN.
