Jean Towles, 92, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at her home in Batesville. She was the widow of Mr. Joseph Spencer Towles.
The family and friends will gather for a 10 a.m. graveside service Saturday, April 2, at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville.
Jean was born July 14, 1929 in Corinth, to the late Hubbard and Hazel Bingham Bass. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Batesville. Jean was a true caregiver for her family, whether it was cooking, raising her vegetable garden, sewing or crocheting, she always took care of them. In her down time, Jean loved reading a good book and fishing. One could characterize her as a 1940’s women.
Jean’s caring memory will be cherished by her family, which includes her daughter, Barbara Shepherd of Tucson, AZ; sister, Sonny Coffee (Buddy) of Oxford; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Hatcher; son, Joe Towles; sister, Lottie Whiten and her brother, Edward Bass.
