Bessie Mae Rowland,  90, passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Mississippi in Oxford. She was the widow of  Daniel Lee Rowland.

Funeral services were Wednesday, March 2,  in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment  at Blackjack Cemetery.

Bessie Mae was born Sept. 11, 1931, in New Albany  to the late Aurthur Lee and Annie Mae Hale Horton. She was a homemaker and of the Assembly of God faith. Bessie Mae enjoyed the simpler things in life which included, fishing, playing bingo and singing. She always loved attending any family gathering and working in her flower garden.

Bessie Mae’s memory will be cherished by her daughter, Towanda Taylor of Pope; sons, Robby Rowland of Hernando,  Raymond Rowland of Batesville, Jimmy Willard of Water Valley, Robert Willard of Batesville, and Sidney “Dago” Willard of Fulton; one sister, Dorothy Lee Horton of Blue Mountain; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
