Barbara Dyan Jenkins, 69, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at her home in Oakland.

A memorial service will held at 11 a.m.  Saturday, June 12,  in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m. Rev. Shirley Paisley will be officiating.

Dyan was born on August 27, 1951, to the late Edgar Melton and Ruby Stanley Melton in Clarksdale. She was a caregiver and attended Hope Church of God in Oakland. Her kind and caring spirit will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The family left behind includes her two daughters, Wanda Best Smallwood and Bonita Best Turner both of Oakland; one son, Stacy Christopher Boyd Best of Enid; two sisters, Gloria Lyles of Tillatobia, and Dorothy Burkeen of Waterford; one brother, Michael Blevins of Horn Lake; 8 grandchildren, Chelsey Best, Shelly Best, Amanda Pipkin, Monica Melton, Hunter Smallwood, Laura Turner, Brittany Jackson, Katlyn Box; and 7 great-grandchildren.
