No Shave November Underway

Batesville Police Chief Jimmy McCloud has again relaxed his rule against facial hair for city police officers in a fundraiser that proved popular with the department and the general public last year. McCloud urges citizens to donate money to support the officer they think will grow the best beard, and also allows wives and girlfriends who don’t like scruffy faces to pay for the right to have their significant other clean shaven. The month of fun is a good community relations builder and raises money for a good cause. McCloud said this year’s proceeds will be distributed to various group, including The Grace Place locally.
