Kirk took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first and never looked back before coasting to the victory. The Raiders plated runs in every inning while pounding out 20 hits.

North Delta (2-4, 0-2) scratched across on run in the bottom half of the first as leadoff batter Mckenna Smith reached third on an error and scored on Isabella Morrow’s groundout.

The Lady Raiders extended their lead to 10-1 in the fifth before the Lady Green Wave bats showed some form of life with four runs to cut Kirk’s lead to 10-5.

After Smith flied out to begin the inning, Morrow and Ally Alford singled followed by a two-run double from Paizlee Woods. Griffin Rico and Breck Brewer kept the inning going with a single and double that produced runs.

Whatever momentum the Lady Wave had quickly evaporated as Kirk scored nine runs over the next two innings to put the game away.

North Delta collected 11 hits in the game as Brewer led the way offensively with a double and two singles.

Alford and Morrow followed with two singles each. Millie Clark and Gracie Tutor also provided singles.

Woods, Alford and Lindy Ward all saw time in the pitchers’ circle for North Delta.

The Lady Wave hosted West Memphis Christian Thursday in a makeup game that was postponed from July 29 season opener.
