Wright previously was offered by the University of Memphis on May 10. Wright received the scholarship offer after he completed a workout  in one of Ole Miss’ football camps for high school players.

He was told by one of the coaches in the camp to follow him into  head coach Matt Luke’s office and was offered right on the spot.

Wright said it was a “dream come true” considering Ole Miss is so close to Batesville. He also said in another interview with David Johnson of Ole Miss 247Sports and CBS Sports that his mother wants him to “stay home”.

Cam Wright is also in talks with Alabama, Tennessee, South Alabama, Louisiana-Monroe, and Arkansas.

Cam Wright is the son of Bettye Joe and James Lee Wright and the grandson of Joel Johnson and Christine Blackburn along with William Wright and the late Jearline Wright.
