Charges of arson, cyberstalking and trespassing were dismissed against Moneisha Nicole Norwood, 204 West Lee St., Sardis.

The home’s owner Latoya Taylor pursued charges against Norwood after a neighbor, Irving Turner, said he saw Norwood leaving the backdoor of the house and thence saw smoke.

However, police officers James Hawkins, Cody Medlin, Derrick Booth and Bobby West said Turner told them that Norwood pulled up after Irving spotted smoke and took Climiko Stark’s dog and put him in the pen.

Neither Turner or Starks were in court. The police were not able to find Starks to serve him with a subpoena, according to prosecutor Tommy Shuler.

Norwood is said to be Starks’ girlfriend and was invited into the house even though Taylor told her no to come back to the house. Municipal Court Judge Ray Tannehill told Taylor that if Norwood was invited into the house by Starks there is nothing the law can do.

The cyber stalking charges were dismissed because Norwood did not send the messages directly to Taylor. She posted them on Facebook to someone else’s account who showed the messages to Taylor.
