Davis sets school record in 1600 meters at Oxford

South Panola’s Spencer Davis set a new school record in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4.56 at the Oxford Eagle Invitational Saturday.

The Tiger boys finished in sixth place with 34 points while the girls garnered 57 points that was good for fifth spot.

Kiersten Clark won the girls 400 meters with a time of 1:00.60 and finished second in the 200 meters.

Teammates Aziyah McGhee and Jada Wilson finish in fourth and sixth place in the 200 meters. The duo also garnered the 4th and fifth spot in the 100 meters.

Teddera Patton placed third in the girls 100 meter hurdles with a 18.90 mark and placed sixth in there 300 meter hurdles. Takyra Webster finished fourth in the shot put and fifth in the discus.

Caleb Grayer finished  fourth place in both the boys 100 and 200 meter run. David Bledsoe claimed sixth place in the 400 meters.

Sam Kirkland ran a 2:28 to finish sixth in the boys 800 meters. Wray Willis finishes ninth in the boys 1600 meter run.

In boys field events, Jalen Kirby finished fifth in the discus and seventh in the shot put. Demetri Jones finished two spots behind Kirby in the shot put .
