Junior High sweeps Water Valley at home

The South Panola Junior High Tigers rallied with four runs in the bottom of the third inning to defeat Water Valley 7-6 in the second game of a double header Monday at Tiger Field.

South Panola eased past the Blue Devils 12-2 in the first game.

Michael Johnson, Mack Boyette and Baylor Scammon singled in the victory. Cameron Moore, Johnson, Eli Raines, Daniel Moore Trey Drumheller and Scammon accounted for the Tiger runs.

Boyette gave up four runs on five hits while striking out three in two innings on the mound. Landon Dickinson worked one inning of relief by surrendering two runs on three hits.

South Panola (6-2) used a six-run fourth inning to put the game away due to the10-run mercy run.

Drumheller and Scammon paced the Tigers offensively with two singles each. Johnson added a RBI double in the first inning and scored two runs.

Brock Ware delivered a RBI single in the third to plate Scammon to give the Tigers a 6-2 lead. Aidan Williams drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the second.

Ware worked three innings on the mound while Scammons tossed one inning in relief.

South Panola played at Lafayette County Thursday and will return to their home field Monday to face Tupelo at 5 and 7 p.m.
