Panolian has new intern

South Panola sophomore Johnathan Williams, of Sardis, has begun an internship with The Panolian.
Williams hopes to attend Journalism School at Ole Miss, and is learning the basics of community journalism at the newspaper. He is also responsible for the maintaining the newspaper’s website starting this week.
He his job duties include working on the coming events, jail log, church news, engagements, and obituaries, and will soon be expanded to covering board meetings and writing feature stories.
South Panola High School journalism teacher Jeff Eubanks recommended Williams, who also has broadcast training through the Tiger TV program that has student journalist filing television reports. Those programs air throughout the district for students of all ages.
“We are pleased to have Johnathan, and he has already been a real help to our staff. We look forward to helping him begin a successful journalism career,” said Editor Jeremy Weldon.
Williams is the son of Mrs. Rachel McKinney-Williams, and the late Rev. Kevin Williams. His grandparents are Lawrence and Ethel McKinney of Sardis, and Julius and JoAnn Williams of Oxford.
