J. C. Harrison

J. C. Harrison, 76, died Saturday morning, August 11, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tenn.

Funeral services will be held at 12 o’clock Tuesday, August 14, at the Batesville Church of Christ with interment to follow at Crowder Cemetery.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Wells Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

J.C. was born January 5, 1942 in Crowder,  to the late Collie Clay and Mary Lou Bailey Harrison. He was a member of the Collierville Church of Christ and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. J.C. retired after 25 years of service as parts manager for Sunrise Buick-GMC car dealership in Memphis.

Frances Shaw

Mrs. Frances Shaw, age 90, passed away Wednesday August 8, 2018 at her daughter’s residence in Sardis, MS. Services were held Saturday, August 11 at Crowder Baptist Church with interment following in Crowder Cemetery.

Mrs. Shaw was a member of Crowder Baptist Church, former Sunday School, Training Union Teacher and member of Senior Citizens Club of Crowder Baptist Church. She was also retired from Panola Mills, Inc. in Batesville.

Survivors include her daughter Linda Stone (Robert) of Sardis, MS; two sisters Tommie Jean White of Senatobia, MS; Shirley Foster of Picayune, MS; eight grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Gillespie Shaw, her parents Gaines & Willie Ann Tiner and four brothers Roland, Charles, Clifford & Jimmy Tiner. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
