Panola County Sheriff Dennis Darby is advertising, “The best barbecue I’ve ever had,” Friday, August 25 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. when longtime law enforcement supporter Slick McDonald will sell rib and barbecue plates at Highway 6 West and Eureka Street.
Proceeds from Friday’s event will be used, “To help purchase much needed equipment to fight the war on drugs and gangs,” according to a flier being distributed to advertise the event.
McDonald and family have been involved with supporting and promotion of law enforcement through their former business Davenport Wrecker Service.
Darby said the barbecue dinner plates are being prepared by “World famous Slick McDonald in appreciation for progress made in law enforcement of Panola County during past years.
Co-sponsoring along with Slick is Jay Davis of Jay’s Towing Service.
The plates will be available at the old Piggly Wiggly building.
