ND girls win, earn state berth

The North Delta girls defeated No. 6 ranked Winston Academy 47-32 on Wednesday in the second round of North State to secure a berth to the state championship round next week. The Lady Wave had a first round bye.
The win set them up in the to tangle with the winner of the Manchester/Indianola Academy game played yesterday afternoon. The score was not available at press time.
The game will be played today at 4 p.m. at Leake Academy.
The winners will advance to the championship round tomorrow at 3:15 p.m. The losers will play in the consolation game at 2 p.m. tomorrow.
The state round starts Tuesday at Kirk Academy.
