ND to face Marshall Academy
By Will Dickins
North Delta plays host to Marshall Academy as they look to rebound from a tough loss last week. Marshall is undefeated in MAIS play on the season under a new coach. Coach Brandon Ciaramitaro thinks it will be a challenge.
“They have a seasoned bunch of players who are led by first year head coach Barrett Donahoe. They are very multiple on defense and run the spread attack on offense. They are led by Canaan Pearson and Ryan McAlexander. Marshall will prove to be a tough task.” Marshall averages 9.4 points allowed per game on defense with their only loss coming to Holly Springs High School 28-10. They also average 38.5 points a game offensively. They have two common opponents with North Delta. One is Bayou early in the year where they won 13-6. The other was a 59-6 win over West Memphis Christian out of West Memphis, AR.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Green Wave as well as the seniors.
“This week we will honor our seniors for all of the hard work and dedication that they have put in over the years,” coach Cimiataro said.
Senior night will start at 6:45, and kickoff is set for 7:00. Fans are also reminded that it is still Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In corrections from Tuesday’s North Delta Jr. High article, the first touchdown was a 15-yard screen pass from Ryan Gibson to Jimmy Manues. The second touchdown was a 65-yard run by Ryan Gibson.
