A defendant of Walls bonded out prior to Batesville Municipal Court held Wednesday and was referred to the grand jury.
Judge Bill McKenzie bound Deborah K. Self, 7320 Hwy. 161 NW, Walls, over to Circuit Court for two counts of prescription forgery.
Attorney David Walker represented Quincy D. Harris, 202-B Lester St., Batesville, during a preliminary hearing for grand larceny charges.
Detective Justin Maples testified that Quincy’s brother Ricky Harris filed the charges.
Maples testified that Ricky Harris filed charges saying Quincy alledgedly broke into a vehicle taking a wallet that contained $1,300 belonging to his brother, Ricky Harris.
“Ricky (Harris) has not cooperated,” Maples testified as far as trying to pursue the charges.
Maples said there was video footage of a young man entering a silver PT Cruiser.
“Ricky has never come to the department to indicate whether it was Quincy in the video or not.
“There is not enough probable cause to go forward with the case,” Judge McKenzie said.
Kenneth Fuller, 12 CR 120, Oxford, had a warrant issued for his arrest after failing to appear for the second time to answer charges for open container, driving while license suspended and running a stop sign.
Nicholas W. Boyd, 3109 CR 150, Coila, also had a warrant issued after his second time failing to appear in court to answer charges for possession of marijuana, suspended driver’s license and no seat belt.
Charlie W. Armstrong, 203 Darby Rd., Courtland, failed to appear to answer charges for simple possession of marijuana, improper equipment, no driver’s license and no proof of insurance.

He was also wanted by Leflore County Jail for petit larceny charges.

A trial was set for October 12.

Kayla M. Shaw, 916 Patton Taylor Rd., Southaven, had a case for embezzlement (misdemeanor) continued after she asked for more time to seek counsel.
Shaw is charged with embezzling $496.09 while employed by Cracker Barrell.
Judge McKenzie told her to return in two weeks with a counsel announcement.
Davion Bowman, 100 Cyress St., Houston, Texas, had charges for false pretenses remanded to the files for six months pending good behavior and sentenced to time served for resisting arrest and simple possession of marijuana.
“Where are you going when you are released from jail?” McKenzie asked.
Bowman told the judge he would be going back to Houston, Texas where his mother is.
Malcolm Benson, 124 Martinez St., Batesville, entered a guilty plea to simple possession of marijuana and false information. He was given time served for the 28 days he spent in jail awaiting trial in lieu of paying $1,090.
Benson also had a malicious mischief charge withdrawn at the request of the affiant, Billy Helmes Jr.
Bronjase M. Robertson, 264 Jones Ext., Batesville, entered a guilty plea to DUI-second.
“Do you have a job?” asked McKenzie.
After Robertson replied, “no,” the judge told him he needed to get a job.
“Your fine is $1,146. No one can afford to drink and drive,” the judge added.
Charlotte Wilkerson, 1067 Carlisle Rd., Courtland, had old fines of $1,146 due since January 2015.
After promising the judge she would get the fines paid immediately, he told her to have her fines paid in full by 5 p.m. Friday, September 23 or serve six months in jail.
David D. Petit, 99 N. Wood Dr., Batesville, had contempt of court-old fines of $2,559 due since October 2013.
Petit told the judge he’d been in jail 14 days and had two jobs he could go to if he could be released.
After promising to have the fines paid in full, the judge told him to have them paid in full or serve six months in jail.
“Pay it or serve it,” the judge said.

Tommy L. Wright, 139-A Todd Rd., Batesville, was found guilty of simple possession of marijuana in a vehicle on June 13 after he stopped at a check point.
Officer Scott Cagle testified that Wright had his girlfriend in the vehicle who had marijuana in her wallet.
Marijuana was also found on the passenger side of the vehicle, the officer said.
The judge found enough probable cause to find the defendant guilty and fined him $443.
Edward Allen Reiman, 100 Suratt Circle, Water Valley, had a shoplifting case continued.
Elizabeth N. Lemaire, 210 Van Voris, Batesville, had a charge for disorderly conduct-failure to comply remanded to the files for six months pending good behavior after an agreement was made between the officer and defendant.
