Lady Tiger volleyball falls in home opener to Cleveland

The South Panola Lady Tiger Volleyball team fell to Cleveland Tuesday night at home after losing three of four sets to the Lady Wildcats. South Panola started out strong in their first match, winning 25-23.
The Lady Tigers were unable to keep up as Cleveland came back in the next two sets to win 25-18 and 25-16. In the final set, the Lady Tigers needed the win to stay in the game.
The Lady Tigers matched all of Clevelands points, with the score tied most of the game.
Tied 24-24 and Cleveland’s serve, the Wildcats managed two rally points, stealing the win with a final score of 26-24
Bri Bradley had an impressive serve in the second match scoring seven points, with a loss of rally point, five rally points and one ace point. Rachel Towles also fought hard serving five points in the third match, with three rally points, one loss of rally point, and an ace. Kia Coleman served four points in the final match, with one ace point, two rally points, and a loss of rally point. Nicole Rensink served the final four points of the game for the Lady Tigers, with three rally points and a loss of rally point.
Batesville Junior Varsity Volleyball team played the best two of three sets with Cleveland and fell 26-24 in the first and 25-23 in the second.
In the first match, Teddera Patton served the final five points, including two ace points. Madison Upton fought hard in the second match serving up five points of her own for the Lady Tigers.
The Lady Tigers will face HW Byers Thursday, August 18 at home at 5 and 6 p.m.
