Weekend incident reports released by Batesville Police Department included three incidents of stolen items including a laptop, cash, nail gun, window glass and a pistol.
Patrolman J. P. Wallace’s report of July 22 revealed a laptop and $270 in cash missing from a Toyota Camry parked at Hampton Inn.
Wallace’s report stated the owner returned to his vehicle and drove to Sardis to a client’s house, “he noticed his laptop and money were missing.”
The report said the laptop was valued at $1,259.
Patroman Justin Johnson’s report of the same day indicated a nail gun and double pane glass was stolen from 250 Hwy. 51 South.
An anonymous caller reported two individuals had broken into the Underground building and also gave the location of the residence of the offenders on Willa Street. An investigator was called and took hand and foot prints.
Patrolman Justin Davis was summoned to 223 West Street in reference to a car burglary between July 10 and July 22 from a vehicle. The item missing was a .22 cal. pistol taken from the center console according to the report which also indicated that the vehicle was unlocked.
Davis’ report indicated the owner noticed the pistol missing Sunday and the owner stated his dogs were barking outside his residence the night before. He also stated someone had tried to take the radio out of the vehicle according to the report.
